dougkinzinger
DUDE! We just don't get you JB!! The keys were simply rearranged when the women who typed on the original typewriters started typing too fast that it bound up the old manually-punched 'kickers' which actually impacted the paper. If you've ever typed on a manual typewriter you'll know what I mean. That's all!! IT MEANS NOTHING!!

Joel
It's a logical layout for letters, based on frequency of usage in the English language, and on the chance that the typewriter keys would jam together.
