+primortal Subscriber² Posted January 23, 2002 Subscriber² Share Posted January 23, 2002 Found this on groups.google.com It is not a separate file like the normal cursors, so you have to manuallyThe cursor resource for the arrow with the CD is cursor number 68 in "c:windowssystem32user32.dll" (use "Resource Hacker" to viewedit it). But, if you change this file, Windows File Protection will reset it back to the original. So I think the only way to change it is to disable WFP. Y/C
It's in the "user32.dll" file under the "system32" folder. Definitely, it was a pain in the a** when I inserted a cd and my black cursor blinked with the white...

Dazzla Veteran Posted January 23, 2002 Veteran Share Posted January 23, 2002 You dont have to disable it, just make sure its been deleted from the system32dllcache folder, that way when it asks for the cd to replace the modified dll just tell XP where to go! :D
