DirtyLarry Veteran Posted November 27, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 27, 2003 okay, i just started playing XIII today. i really hope i am just missing something blatant in regards to quick saving. i am quick saving using F5, as it says quick save everytime i press it, but when i die if i click Retry (which is the only option for continuing playing not greyed out on the all white options screen after you die) it takes me all the way back to the last check point i was at. so what is the point of quick saving? how do i play from where i last press quick saved, not the beginning of the level and or checkpoint after i die? i really hope i am just amazingly dumb and just cant figure this out and its something easy... anyone that helps thanks in advanced. +BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted November 27, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 27, 2003 You can't, thats the whole point of checkpoints etc. Otherwise all you would have to do was quick save after every little thing, taking away the enjoyment of the game and thus spoiling it. I actually prefer it that way as its far too easy sometimes just to quick save all the time. Just my opinion.
FatCat
it's a bug in the game , a patch should adress it, but by the time it comes out most (like me) will have beat the game.

Just my opinion. dacoolness, f9 always takes me back to the Checkpoint, i thought it was this as well and whats bothering me even more is i swear it did work at one point, and if it was not F9 it was something else, as i played it for about an hour last week for one day and swore it was working and then i picked it up again today since i have some time because of the holiday... and belgarath, i hear your point and respect your opinion i do. my opinion is i happen to be very used to quick save and for me personally it makes games much more enjoyable , as i only maybe get 6 hours a week of good gaming in, and i like to beat games whenever possible. the whole trial and error thing is swell to a certain point but after awhile i just want to be able to play it in a smooth sequence and not keep doing set moves until i get the pattern down especially when its not the smartest AI as in XIII... straight to multiplayer for me if this is the case. thanks for the response though... +BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted November 27, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 27, 2003 No worries DirtyLarry, we all play games in different ways :) I agree on the set moves of the AI, can be a bit of a bind at times, bit I can forgive it that :) Multiplayer is brilliant, loving that, although on a few games Im sure there is some sort of cheating going on as I have unloaded a uzi into someone at point blank and all they did was turn round and fire their pistol at me and bang I was killed ... Oh well its still fun online (Y)
