Cosmin
Hy. Just installed the new ssd (intel 530 series 120gb) with a fresh Win7 on it and all seems fine except the cooler which really is pretty noisier than before. I'm totally sure that it's related to some software settings but can't imagine what. Temps are fine (34 degrees idle) but cooler fan stays near ~1600rpm which is noticeable. Done some tweaks for my ssd related to : - System restore; Drive indexing; Defrag; Prefetch and Superfetch; Windows search and Superfetch and even.. from Power I have chosen High Performance..could this be responsable for higher rpm for cpu cooler? - related to my topic..how do I disable hibernation? - any other tips related to ssd optimization? Using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Thanks a lot!
The Evil Overlord
Command prompt Powercfg /hibernate off As for the cooling, might want to check out your bios screen (It could very well be 80-100% that this is not your issue, but it might be a hyperthread option needs adjusting.) I'm only mentioning it because I had trial'd win7 x32 on an old clevo d9t and the fans and processor were always at max. Once I enabled the threading (I forgot what it was called) the processor and fans were running normally and only increasing under heavy loads. (But like I said this could very well not be your issue.)
