Gary_Player
I've been an nvidia fan for a long time, I love my GF4 ti4400 but its starting to show its age...if i were to get a new video card right now I'd get the 9800
BananaMan
Are you kidding? 9800 Pro ahoy! :)
ANova
but the Geforce 5950 Ultra it kicks Radeon 9800 Pros ass so you have to go to the 9800 XT for equal performance :)Its acutally what YOU like thats important not wich is faster because it only acouple of FPS between the cards anyway... Sorry to burst your nvidia PR bubble but the 5950 can't even come close to the 9800 Pro in dx9 apps without reductions in image quality, a specialized compiler in the drivers and general optimations in all the current popular apps. You need to do some more research instead of buying into the hype. If nvidia is good at anything, it's marketing.
demorgoron
to me both cards are equally good, but to choose one, the nvidia is better. i have a fx 5200 and i love it
AndyD
What do you have now? There really isn't any reason to upgrade now if you have a card that can handle most of games today. Unlike Gary_Player, I think my GF 4400 does a heck of a good job playing most games today...at least all the ones that I've played recently. The only one I can think of that gives me issues is Deus Ex but that isn't my hardware's fault...its the developers' fault. You would be wise to not jump in now and to wait till games that will actually take advantage of dx 9 games.

LordHatrus
what about the Nvidia 5950 Ultra? :p I own a radeon... (9700 Pro All-in-Wonder) and it leaves me wanting more... I had to stick in a PCI card for extra monitors. Why does radeon not make 2 or 4 monitor cards as much as the other companies?!?!?
