PS4 Supports Keyboard and Mouse for Games!

This is probably old news for some, but I didn't know this until today.

The PS4 supports mouse and keyboard support via wireless bluetooth.

Some games already support the use of the keyboard and mouse in-game like War Thunder.

No need for Eagle Eye or Frag FX add-ons, which never worked well anyway.

I'm very excited about this feature and hope that games like COD and BF4 will support the use of mouse and keyboard on PS4, If all PS4 games do I likely wont be buying any more FPS PC games anymore!

Wow, that's cool news.

I'm glad it supports wired keyboards and mice though.  I'll try out mine and see how it goes.  I had been doing some testing on my X1, so it would be great to use the same set on both.  I could setup a little splitter

I hope more games add support for that, but its great to see War Thunder be the first.

Now if this kinda thing would be added to shooters on the consoles they may be able to become an enjoyable experience on those platforms, rather than a painful one.

I didn't, but I was waiting for Bluetooth support for my headset more in honesty

Yep, it needs to get more drivers to extend the support to more devices.

Also just to add to my original post, War Thunder has allowed PS4 players to go up against PC players online (possibly due to keyboard and mouse support) hopefully same happens for other FPS titles which would make the online community larger and last longer.

Now that is interesting, Moreso if they allow titles like StarCraft 2 and such the same treatment....

But does the PS4 web browser support a keyboard and mouse?

Yes, I was watching a review on it on Youtube which showed the use of the keyboard and mouse in web browser (same as using a PC) and then looked into it further which showed game support is here also. (But not all games)

Well that's one way to solve the cross play problem.

I still would prefer a gamepad for most games, but I could definitely see myself playing all shooters with my kb and mouse.

So question is, will game developers make the effort.

Dice (BF4 guys) are considering it.

It's going to be very unfair if mouse players are allowed to play against controller players in FPS's.

I think an auto-aim assist was considered for controller players so it didn't become too great of an advantage for mouse/keyboard players on consoles.

I believe almost every console FPS already has a certain amount of auto-aim. It doesn't come close to making it a level play field with a mouse though.

UT3 did it as an option.

Not a great example for the agument if it made a difference or not though, as it was pretty much DoA on consoles.

Shadowrun on 360/PC had it's ups and downs. 360 players didn't get pwned but they had to artificially limit the PC players which sucked.

Why? Still looks like crap compared to PC.
