aberg
Is it possible to hide the username on the start screen. I don't like my full name displayed on the start screen but I don't want to change my display name in Outlook.com Currently I'm using a local account but that means my apps aren't updating until I log in with a Microsoft account. I sure there is registry hack for this but how.
Atomic Wanderer Chicken
You could go and change your name a period, that might work

aberg
Use outlook aliases then. Tried that, logged in with my alias but it still displays my primary account name.

aberg
Other way around. You mean by setting my alias as the primary account. I suppose that would work but I really want to hide it altogether.
PNWDweller
I don't know if this will help or not, but I have 8.1. Pro and can at least access the items in the guide: http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/springboard/archive/2013/10/31/a-new-windows-8-1-enterprise-feature-start-screen-control.aspx I haven't looked at the export or done what they are saying, but it would seem that if you can edit part of it to remove the username. I might be wrong, but it is a starting point.

I suppose I have to wait for somebody to find a registry hack for it.
