PortalPacific
So im just a bit confused.. I got a new laptop a couple weeks ago.. I am running Windows 7 Professional. I also have the app fences installed.Anyways.. I just noticed that if i pick up a thumb from my desktop and drag it to the left or right; it will scroll over to a clean page (Often like phones do)Is this a normal feature for windows 7 and i just have never noticed? or is it a feature with fences? (I cant find it listed in fences feature)Also the only way I am able to get to the clean page is by dragging an icon over to it.. How do i get to it otherwise? o_0 Thanks for any help! Nick H. Supervisor Posted December 16, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted December 16, 2013 It's a feature of Fences: NEW! Use your desktop to organize all of your stuff You can have pages of fences on your desktop. To flip a page, just take your mouse cursor to the edge of your screen and click and drag. Then a new page of fences can be displayed. This feature makes it easy to use your desktop to organize all of your programs, documents, websites and more. The Evil Overlord
Ok, first I thought to myself, 'admitted to having fences' answered own question, I'll let it slide but root desktop to another drive? it's C:\users\username\desktop you can however set up custom locations to documents and other such items in the start menu
Nick H. Supervisor Posted December 16, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted December 16, 2013 How do i root my desktop to my secondary drive?I don't think I understand the question. You want it so that all of your desktop files are saved on a secondary disk instead of the main one that has the operating system?
FiB3R
The way I do it is... Click Start and type...shell:UsersFilesFolder Press EnterThen, Right Click on the folder you want to move, and choose Properties > Location.Change the path from "C:\Users\FiB3R\Contacts" to "D:\FiB3R\Contacts" or wherever you wish. (Obviously Change FiB3R to your own username)Click OKIf the folder does not exist in the location specified, you will be asked if you want to create it.When asked, choose Yes to move all files from the old folder. This will also update your library locations. Probably best to restart the computer after making all your changes. Wish there was a little program to automate this task. Would also be nice if Windows gave you the option during install :( The Evil Overlord 1 Share
PortalPacific
I don't think I understand the question. You want it so that all of your desktop files are saved on a secondary disk instead of the main one that has the operating system? Yes I have a 128 GB SSD and a 750gb HDD and want to use my desktop more.. So i would like all the desktop files to be stored on my secondary D: drive. The way I do it is... Click Start and type... shell:UsersFilesFolder Then, Right Click on the folder you want to move, and choose Properties > Location. Change the path from "C:\Users\FiB3R\Contacts" to "D:\FiB3R\Contacts" or wherever you wish.
