NFS:U wish-list

But how many people can make a car that goes fast and stays stuck to the road. Not saleen with their RWD fishtailers. Oh nissan can. AWD you say? Subaru? Audi? The majority of fast american cars are RWD, this is stupid car building, but smart business. They are geared to sell to ignorant rich folks who want to have the 'best.' yeah well mr. jones, my car can go 250mph even though i have never even gone over 130, and when i did, i crapped my pants.

RWD fishtailers? Get a clue, some of the greatest sports cars ever made were rear wheel drive. The only reason for AWD is because a) most people aren't race car drivers, and b) it helps in adverse conditions. On a race track rear wheel drive would be much better. And most people who want the best cars get them from Europe!

stock prelude 5th gen vs stock mustang gt may lose in straight line acceleration, but will not on a track if they have equally smart drivers.  how many straight roads you drive on? and how many curvey ones?  whats more fun driving up and down a mountain or driving on a straight line?

where are the cars made?

asia?

how many straight roads there?

hachi roku?

exactly.....

Good crap, get an issue of any recent sports car magazine comparing Mustangs to Asian cars. Sport Compact Car does them every once in a while, I'm sure the other tuning mags do too. The Mustangs perform just as well in the corners as any other car. They don't magically fly off the road. They have suspensions, they have tires! Not to mention the fact that some of the best Asian cars are RWD, the Supra, the RX-7, the Miata.
the point of this post is not to say asian cars are the best, but to say american cars are definately not. They are made for close-minded people trying to achieve the 'american dream' with their existential behaviour they never stop to think that they have just bought into marketing by thte bougiouse and have in doing so literally grabbed their ankles and got owned. The ford Excursion? Lincoln Navigator? Escalade? who needs cars this big? rich orange county soccer moms?  get off your american high horse and be more objective.  the asian cars serve a purpose that is greater than an existential thought.

Oh, ok, let me take my hatchback Honda and pick up some lumber for my house. Or tow a boat with it. Or try driving it on a dirt road, or on unpaved roads. You're the one being closed minded, asian cars serve the purpose of being CHEAP. That's always what has made them popular.

ok well thats just an ignorant comment, your saying a front engine rear wheel drive car can handle better then a AWD car that has almot 50/50 weight distribution and is known as one of the best drift cars on the planet? come on man I know your smarter then that I mean you HAVE to be. your probably right about the lingenfelter beating a skyline but only in a striaght line and only in top end Ive seen 4cyl DSM (eclips, wrx, talon ect.) cars blown lingenfelter vets off the line. and those are 4 cylinders so your probably right about that if it were in a striaght line but as soon as they hit a turn the skyline would be gone.

I'm not saying it can handle better, i'm saying it does have good handling. And where it lacks it more then makes up for in speed. The overall stats are better then a skyline. A lingenfelter corvette can beat a lamborghini. An eclipse would have to be modded to hell and back just to keep up. Yes, the skyline is a good drifter but drifting isn't quite the same as racing.

Why must people pick this game apart. What other game has a mode specifically for Drifting? Well at least in the US?

I enjoy the street racing scene, always have, after almost 7 years in it, It's still what drives me. I like the fact that they are starting to recognize Drifting and Sprints in the video game industry, it's alot easier and cheaper to get your thrills from a video game... Well, maybe it can't fullfill everything in the scene.

These arguments many people are having are just plain rediculous.

The exhaust system does have a bit to do with the performance in a car, maybe not by itself, but in combination with other vehicle hop-ups a good exhaust system can really improve power output in a car. For instance, if you are to install a turbo on your car, you must have a throaty downpipe and muffler as to not restrict the air flow coming out of the exhaust, this ultimately lets more flow get back to the turbo in turn compressing the intake even further and causing a boost in performance.

As for Honda Preludes, I like them too, but as a race car, they are not very popular due mostly to their price point, many racers are looking for the best bang for the buck, and the Prelude doesn't offer that great of performance for the price of the vehicle... this will change as the price on the Prelude goes down.

And whoever said anything about the lack of European and American cars in this game is a damn fool... C'mon, the VW Golf makes a showing, as well as the Peugot 206 Maxi, not to mention the Dodge Neon and the SRT4. There's no point in putting the really high end cars in this game as they NEVER show up in a true street race, I do admit though, it would be nice to be able to put a Pagani Zonda up against a Nissan Skyline.

I don't think it'd be good to include Corvettes and Vipers in this game, the performance margin is too high as both those cars can't handle the beast under the hood. Leave it to Dodge and Chevy to make completely unbalanced vehicles. Besides, give me a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7 or a Nissan Sylvia S15 and I will run circles around so called American Muscle.

geesh, so many haters out there. nfs-u is supposed to reflect real street racing. no point of including $80,000+ cars in the game. if you want mclarens, vipers, and lambos...then play gt3. the majority of real street races really do have such cars as civics, integras, eclipses, etc...so don't hate on asian cars. yes, they are cheaper...but how many cheap american cars do you know last over 20 years going 250,000+ miles? not many, right?

btw, i would've liked to see better/more detailed performance upgrades in the game. different brand packages doing different things. the music also gets annoying after a while. rap and rock are not all i listen to in my car.

and lastly, fix the damn online cheats EA!!!

sorry i couldn't help my self

REAL!!!! STREET RACING!!!

there is nothing real in this game

you want real street racing, then how about, if you hit a lightpole you are dead.

one thing that i really hate is movies like fast and furious, because then all the stupid kids out there with their civics thiking that they can jump over bridges, you said REAL! if you would jump over a bridge going 90+ mph, and and from about 50+ feet on the ground that entire car would fall apart.

remember fast and furious is bull****, and this game is too

and about american cars, i know allot of cars last over 20 + years, and 250k miles, but

Being able to own more than one car and having all upgrades and customizations not carry ovr on stuff you have just bought.

A street mode like Tokyo Highway Challenge would have also been nice and would give a reason to keep on racing after the Ungerground mode was finished. And let you carry on earning money to upgrade.

Even something like the street races in GTA Vice City would have been a nice addition.

I will leave cars and upgrade out of my post as because I know nothing about em, mind you thats not stopped anyone else has it? :p

More control over the cars appearence and level 3 paint (I dont think I could spell the real name) that doesnt screw up the colour of your vinyls would have been good too.

seriously, nekrosoft13, nobody is forcing you to post in here. stop ragging on the game, we already know you don't like it from your countless posts of crapping on the game. your persistent will not drive the fans of this game away, live with it.

its a forum

its about a expresion, points of few, and i got a right to express mine, don't like, then don't read it

and this thread has no logical point any way

if you would go to EA site and read the FAQ, you would see this

Q. Will there be any downloadable content (Paint Jobs, Cars, etc.) for Need for Speed Underground?

A. Due to the compatibility between the PlayStation?2 console and the PC, there will be no downloadable content available for the game. The reason for this being that both platforms must remain exactly the same in order to be compatible. Any change to one must be made to the other.

THEY NOT GONNA ADD ANYTHING!!

If you want to drive Corvettes, Mustangs, and McLarens, play NFS:Hot Pursuit 2!!!!

More than likely someone will figure out a way to import cars and other options like they did with previous NFS games. NFS High Stakes for instance, (I think this was the one) they had cars from almost every manufacturer all done up.

My guess is they will more than likely figure out a way to do this, and more to this game before long.

And why is everyone bitching about real world performance in here? Take that to a car forum, this is a freakin game!

Back on topic...I'd like to be able to actualy tell the difference bewteen a Greddy Turbo and an HKS, why bother getting different packages if they all act and feel the same?!

In-car view would be nice again...

Replays :D

..Basically everything previously mentioned :D

Too bad EA won't release any patches that will add or change a fiew of these things. :( Oh well, up to modders now!
