#Michael
I have an older ipod shuffle (click wheel model) that works on all computers except one. That computer is an old emachines 500mhz: Windows XP home edition with sp3 and all updates and security patches. Uses MSE for basic security I uninstalled itunes and all associated apple software. Ran ccleaner and cleaned out the registry of any traces of apple. I then uninstalled all usb host controllers and usb hubs and restarted the computer. Allowed the computer to re-install all host controllers and hubs. I then re-installed the latest version of itunes (11.3.8) and plugged the ipod back in. The computer found the ipod and installed the drivers. But when it finished the install, I still got the yellow question mark next to the apple mobile device usb driver and had a code 10 in the properties box. I have even tried all of the usb ports but no luck. I have reached the end of my knowledge on this. Thoughts?

#Michael
You may need to remove more than just iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 Finally had the chance to work on this. I followed this KB article and the code 10 error persists. Any other thoughts? It is getting very annoying.
