Powerworks
Is it FF XI? Not sure.. I was never a big final fantasy fan.. But.. it looks great, and i'm looking for a MMORPG to waste my money on.. soo.. my question is.. Does anyone here play it? Is it worth the money and the 6GB to install? Glatz
I have this game, I also love this game. So fun and this game has so much to offer. Plus it has some of the best graphics of any mmorpg.
HellBender
 Haven't played FFXI yet.. I'm waiting for one of my cheap friends to get it so I can try it out. I don't wanna drop the bucks to buy it and then hate it :pinch: Until then, I'll stick with Ragnarok Online
Ecander
I've played just about every mmorpg at least once and FFXI is one of my top three. It has fun gameplay and good graphics, although I wouldnt really hold it to the FF namesake. Ohh and its a 4.27GB install on a NTFS formatted drive for Playonline and FFXI. John Veteran Posted November 29, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 29, 2003 IMO it's not worth the money. who cares about installation space? :p though it takes a while to install... if you like MMORPGs, then trust me, you'll love FF11. if you don't, then you'll probably be like me and think it's the worst final fantasy game to date. i really don't like it... no single player AT ALL, it doesn't have an ending (you always keep playing), the story i'm sure is great, but i really REALLY like the individual characters' histories. i'm playing ff7 (again) and i just can't get over how deep each character's history goes, i love that! :woot: honestly, i think square took a turn for the worse when they made FFX. the story is interesting, i'll give it that (btw, blitzball is awesome), but it has way too many things that prevent it from being a true final fantasy game IMO. Powerworks
I played Ragnorak.. didn't really like the style of graphics.. but the gameplay was good.. I am a hardcore Ultima Online fan (or I was before EA took over) now I play on free shards (emulator).. but I have some money and want to play a decent mmorpg.. I'm only home on weekends.. so i don't really want to pay the price.. this summer i'm thinking of playing Anarchy Online (heard many good things about the new expansion).. but FFXI just seemed to catch my eye.. Maybe i'll check it out...
snocked
It sucks. I'm not paying monthly to play a game where you can't climb or swim and where you have only two colors of hair to choose from for your face. Talk about a rip off.
HellBender
I played Ragnorak.. didn't really like the style of graphics.. but the gameplay was good.. The graphics were my favorite part. I loved the cutesy anime-ish characters. Gameplay was pretty good too, not nearly as deep as it could've been but still lots of fun. But the graphics... <3 To each his own
HeartsOfWar
Final Fantasy XI is not all that great... They claim the PC version was completely revamped to take advantage of everything a PC has to offer, but in reality it's still a huge freaking port off from a console. Why?? The whole 'PlayOnline' application is actually the mini OS type thing that the console would actually load... You can't play the game without the LaMe 'playOnline' crap. They offer playing with a Game Pad... I think we all know that 99% of PC games are too complicated for a gamepad. The camera controls SuCk The actual controls are quite cumbersome for a while... unless you have a gamepad and then you're stuck rotating through enemies instead of directly accessing one The game takes the longest to install the God for saking updates... You can't download the updates to store later on... They went all freaking crazy with Mip-Maps almost to the point of looking ****y The game scenery is a little large and under populated with monsters... There's more... but You get the picture I am a die-hard FF fan too... This game is no where near MMORPG goodness... Wait for WOW

HeartsOfWar
Dude... If you think I'm crazy, all you have to do is purchase the game and waste your freaking money to find out... If you don't have the same conclusion after that, then you need to sell your computer and stick with consoles. I wouldn't risk it... I'm sick an tired of console games being ported over... Almost 80% of all the console games could be re-written for a PC and blow the sh*t out of the console sales... Why people buy these HalF-As$ed port over games, I'll never understand.
