I wouldn't waste your money on it.

Will it work? Yes.

What will you do with it? Unless you have Phantasy Star Online, NOTHING.

Mario Kart DD supports broadband, but only over a LAN with other GC's. I'm sure someone's working on a way to handle internet play like you could with Halo.

Thats the one thing that really disappointed me with the Gamecube. During the launch, they said that they would have a big online service, they went to the trouble of creating and selling two types of modems, and did nothing. At least when I get my XBox, I can play it online.

Yeah, I remember that. In fact, I bought my BB adapter a year ago thinking there was going to be a mad rush for these things...at...some...point

Hell, even the DC had one...that WORKED.

GameCube's adapter does work and it is playable online ( view above post ). It just isn't an official online source, but it works. ;)

It WORKS, yes, but with how many games? You neglect to mention that you need a PC to get the GC out of your local LAN. Then you have to run version 0.3 software.

The GC is a great piece of hardware, but a dismal failure in today's online market.

Even Nintendo said last year that there was no market for online gaming. Uh, HELLO. Then why make a BB adapter?

Not much - yet. Warppipe is still in early development, so of course we're not seeing the full potential of this project yet.

I'm not disagreeing with you about Nintendo neglecting the online multiplayer market, you're quite right, but I don't think that means Warppipe goes down with the ship. I don't see needing a PC being an inconveniance at all, btw. But that's just me.

They never said they'd have an online service, ever.

So that third parties who want to go online can, and for the LAN we see now. 3 of Nintendo's 4 racing games have LAN play.

The instructions for Mario Kart specifically say that the Gamecube should be the only thing on your hub when playing LAN play with this game. How that Warp Pipe project will function may be different, but the point is that there is no definate one way to hook yourself up.

Sorry, I don't understand what you meant there. :(

Sorry, your post stated that it works specifically with just the GC inb the hub, I was saying it might make no different with the PC's plugged in providing they are doing nothing network hogging. Hope that makes more sense because I am ill today so my mind isn't thinking straight :(

Like we said above, it may work, but they say not to do it.
