I want to know if for any of these systems if I can copy games (or for XB, copy to harddrive) without a mod chip, and preferrably not voiding the warranty. And to answer the question as well as I can, I guess it would be illegal... But then there's fair use, and being able to have 1 backup copy of media... As for being a warez kiddy, I have yet to figure out what that means, and thanks for standing up for me, Relativity. LOL. I do not see how you could get in trouble in achieving what you want. I do not know much about accomplishing what you want without a modchip, but the "007 Trick" is what you might need. Even if I did (which I don't) want to pirate games, my dad is huge on computer security, and staying legal. I use Napster 2.0 and buy my video games with the money I earn from allowence and odd jobs. The reason most people said you're a warez kiddy is because they see copying and game in the same sentence and automatifcally assume this. Some carrying cases I found: Bah, I screwed up the links...but if you go to Amazon.com and search for PS2/XBox/GameCube carrying case you'll find what I'm talking about. Microsoft have made sure you cant do what you want to do legitamatly if you do get a copied game to run acording to microsoft you have broken their terms of use policy so i would just be reside to the fact that you are unable to do it. Some retailers even chip them for you, just like some retailers make your DVD player region free. This is in my country of course, so everyone has to follow the rules that apply in their own country. But talking about it cannot be illegal as long as Neowin is an international community. So lay off guys, you just complain because you can. Just as a point of interest, mod-chips are illegal in Australia. This stands to reason considering their purpose is to bypass protection mechanisms.
