Not another Handheld...

Why do these companies even try? You can't beat the Gameboy!

Because Competiion means inovation. hopefully this will sucseed and give nintendo a kick up the arse and bring some inovation to the market. Cant wait for the psp to be released too, need to get some better tech to give developers more freedom and bring out better games.

i don't understand why some people are so stupid.. i mean, should every car makers just stop producing new cars when i think the mini cooper is the best car ever? no. should everybody stop creating new handheld gaming device when you think the gameboy is the best? no.

Too bad the PSP will dominate all other handhelds once it comes out... :shifty:

Nintendo can't keep its reign over the handheld part of gaming forever...

I think you are assuming too much way to soon. The PSP may be the next bigh thing but it will all depend on the price and support it gets. I mean last i heard it was going to be pretty steep. Plus with its graphics it will take more time and more money to make a game for, so if it is too expensive and less people buy it, then a company might be so wiling to take the risk, time and money to develop for it. Where with the gba it takes a relatively short time to develop a game and there is a massive install base.

*Hugs his GameBoy Advance SP* :D

I have an SP. It's a step in the right direction, but still not as good as it SHOULD be. You plug a GB cart into a GC and watch the game on a nice HDTV and you REALLY see what you're missing. THEN you'll understand how crappy even the SP is.

I'm all for this new device and I hope it does well.

IMO the Nokia N-Gauge sucks, the screen is WAY to small, and I dont like the feed back from the buttons. Why is the screen verticle too? That fact alone is beyond my comprehension.

The GameBoy used to be great but now it just annoys me. I hate how they keep re-releasing the same thing over and over again. Whats next the GBA SP Mini? Seems all Nintendo do for it these days is re-release old (but admittably good) SNES games and sell them all for $80. I have a GBA and honestly havent so much as even looked at for 2 - 3 months.

The GameGear was a great example of a handheld system. Finally a handheld system that was as powerfull as the consoles that were out at the same time, and it was colour! Of course the blurry screen and the amount of time that the batteries lasted put a damper on things. 3 Hours use from 6 alkeline AA batteries wasnt good for your pocket money.

The PSP looks great so far but time will tell whether it is successfull or not. But with a nice big colour screen, and impressive 3d capabilities it could be a winner (if batteries arent an issue).

This new system looks ok too, nice big colour screen, simple button layout, but to suceed the specs will have to be pretty impressive. Time will tell, but im not ready to condemn it just yet. I dont like the GPS tracking though, it could be used for the wrong purposes.
