Yeah, probably back in the day it was a good movie. I saw it about three weeks ago, and I was laughing and shaking my head.

"It's not a virus, its a worm! It nibbles!!"

"P6 chip. Three times the speed of the Pentium."

"It has a killer refresh rate."

"Yeah. RITC architecture is gonna change everything."

:D anyone who knows anything about computers today would be able to spot all the fallacies. But back in those days, people werent as familiar with computers, so I guess it was a good movie back then :)

They say RISC not RITC, which makes it even better because RISC is PPC architecture, and obvioulsy that's not what Intel makes. :)
You should also be banned from the internet for having something from the movie "Hackers" in your sig! That has to be the worst movie EVER.

How do you know that is from Hackers if you haven't seen it a bunch of times? It took me forever to see that sign, many many watches of the film.

Regardless, it's a great cult flick, regardless of the fact that it isn't very good. It's really fun to watch, lies out of it's mind about so many things, but has some cool stuff in it, like phreaking, hackers manifesto, etc, etc.

It's a time piece, on of those, it's so absurd that it is great. I am sure the director et all didn't intend it as such, but that is what it has become.

If you want to see a bad movie, check Skeet's rendition of Mitnick in Hackers 2. Now that's a bad film.

You should be banned for even recognizing that pic considering how obscure it is. Did you watch the movie a 100 times or something?

er, *RISC.. I knew that, I don't even know why I put RITC  brainfart.

Anyway, I HAVE seen Hackers a bunch of times  I got the DVD from a bargain bin and whenever I'm having lunch at home, I whip it out and start watching it. I like to laugh at the obscure things they say. I especially like the part at the end with that guy trying to beat them. "They've infected us with the rabbit!" "Send the vaccine!"

Indeed, I think that it must've been a hit back when it came out (I don't really recall that time so I couldnt say for sure) but by todays standards, nearly everyone can see that they used big words in very wrong context. Yes, that makes it so absurd that its great  But I think that if they re-released that movie today, it would do horribly.

It is in one scene for like 5 seconds, if that. It's by the phone booths and they pan by it, and then it is gone. It is not the kind of thing you could ID if you had just seen it for half a second. Unless it was some madness random circumstance. It is more likely that he loves the movie, his friends made fun of him for it, and now he is trying to back up his claim than him having seen that in his one time seeing the film.
