I Dont Think This Theme Gets Enough Credit

Recommended Posts

I made that style a while ago...it was actually out just after the first style builder and predates ahra's Sosumi by a tad. ;) Since it was one of thefirst styles I did I never really bothered updating and posting them.

There's a newer version with better grippers and scroll bars etc. If you're interested i'll post a link and some screenshots. Either way, glad you like it.

I dont mean to come off like a jerk but Its a bit of a yawn if you ask me. Any theme IMHO that just changes the colors etc, of the pre-existing default luna is nothing special. Anyone who puts effort into creating something is cool, but I prefer themes that go beyond like the jollyrancher, or china.

Hey I wasnt bagging anyone out, anyone who designs a theme deserves credit but if you want a particular theme to be really recoognised its up to the author to publish it and make it known for better or worse of opionions

Are you even looking at the same style that everyone else is? This is hardly a recolorization of the default Luna bitmaps and if you'd like to point out any similarity in particular...

I appreciate your opinion and, hey, i'm not offended in the slightest that you think the style is a yawner ;) Hehe, you aren't the first. But to say it's just a rehash of luna is **way** of base.

Anyway, I like the plain styles. I get paid to design corporate images--logos, quarterly's, and the occasional product mock-up so the habit of minimalism and practical design with fucntional considerations have left their indelible mark.

Space Monkey! You the man!

I use Soft Body, I love it, and wouldn't dream about changing it to anything else.

I would also recommend a winamp skin that goes very well with this, it's called "Audiere Blue".

I am about to release the final versions of Flat Blue and Soft Body. They have been around for a little over a month now and most problems should be ironed out.

If anyone has any suggestions before I post them on ThemeXP let me know in this thread...I plan to upload it on 08-02-02 (this friday) so get any suggestion in soon!

Enjoy!

Yes, that is a very stupid mistake (it wasn't in the first release) and has been fixed in the latest version. Many times when i'm going through a theme's XML file i'll change color values to extremes (ie green, red, blue etc...) to see what the changes affect. I think this one may have slipped through.

Well if I created a visual style there's one thing I'd change first:

the STARTPANELMOREPROGARROW.

In my opinion it's just too fat and draws too much attention which may be good for "beginners" of XP to find out where all the programs are. But after some time it's simply annoying, destroying the whole sleek appearance. I would use the same arrow as the one usually reveiling subentries (for I'm not good at creating one of my own ;) )
