Lamp0
Can I change the default location Explorer opens to when it's pinned to the taskbar? I could do this in Win 7, but I thought I could do this in Win 8 too, did this get locked in Win 8.1?
LambdaLambdaLambdaFn
Do you mean you want to change the home page? Options (gear icon, top right) -> Internet Options -> type it in the top box.
Neu B
He meant Windows Explorer. If not, my apologies. Do you mean you want to change the home page? Options (gear icon, top right) -> Internet Options -> type it in the top box.

+virtorio MVC Posted February 11, 2014 MVC Share Posted February 11, 2014 As far as I know, you can't. I've pinned a couple of folders to the taskbar in the past by creating a shortcut to explorer.exe, changing the shortcut target so it opens a folder (e.g. Target = %windir%\explorer.exe "C:\SomeFolder") and pinning that to the taskbar, but now I find it faster to just pin folders directly to the Start Screen.
