Some things China has but U.S. doesn't?

Recommended Posts

I have a friend going to China soon, and I'll be going in the summer. I have some money to spend. I'd like to get some nice things from China. What are some entertainment things that China has, but the U.S. doesn't.. preferably gadgets. I know they have some nice earphones and headphones, but that's not what I want to spend my money on. Or are there things that the U.S. has, but is alot cheaper in China? Oh, remember it's got to be something shippable. It'll cost a fortune to ship a TV or Stereo System.

Thanks alot!

Remember, Hong Kong is a part of China.

That's really not funny <considering I'm Chinese>, but hey, whatever.

That's great but you did ask a question, and I responded to it. And AFAIK they don't really have any specific products you would find there and no where else.

there are all these different types of gaming consoles that those 1000000000000000000 in 1 game cartidges can use lol... you'll know one when you see one, trust me ;)

umm.. cheap pirated movies?! lol jkz

if you're looking for something that is cool in china and nowhere else has it, then i guess you're gonna have to pay a good price for it, especially gadgets, since there are imitation of all these gadgets, if you want one that'll last ya, you gotta pay a lot more.

basically what china has that US doesn't have is what has historical value to china.

Haha, should I be a buying clerk? If you want to buy doodads, including TV set, you have to save your travelling fee too. So, if you choose to arrive at Shanghai Airport, I suggest you go to Nanjing Walking Street of Shanghai -- the best commercial street in China at present, where tons of doodads can be found -- and quality of them can be guaranteed. Yes, elsewhere has cheaper ones, but guarantee on quality will remain unsure. :)

Yep! I've been on Nanjing Street! Pretty much my entire stay in Shanghai [5 Days] was spent walking up and down that road. Man, it was great. So many people.. so many shops. But that was 2 years ago. Can you give me some specific examples as to unique items China has?

What kind of "unique items" do you prefer? Because, for most of Chinese, English language is too difficult to understand, so that most of unique markets in China remain unknown to foreigners, and there are often no web pages in English version about these markets on the net. But I'd like to find them out as long as I can do, and introduce them to you if you tell me what you want.

Never been to China, and never plan to step on communist soil. If China is that great, they better leave Taiwan alone. buncha greedy Chinese thinking that everything belongs to China.

I thought you asked about what items you should buy, but then you slapped your thread with "Hong Kong". Who gives a crap about Hong Kong being part of China or not.. not that I care.

i went to beijing for 4 months last year. they don't really have any gadgets that north america doesn't, but u can find some very cheap movies, cd's ect.. as far as electronics go, they have thier own brand, hier (i think that's the spelling, i'm sure JB can correct me if i'm wrong) that is pretty good and fairly cheap. really don't bother spending ur money on gadgets and things though. use it to see more historic/interesting places. trust me, there are sooo many u will not even believe it. make sure u take a ton of pics!!!

@ThunderRiver- keep ur racist comments to urself. f*cking moron
