GR7
well......if you use public computers (or even a computer at a friend's house) you gotta be careful. there are a lot of easy to use keyloggers that anyone could install on a computer you use to get access to your accounts. ive done it...but thats just to f*ck people who **** me off. not to friends or anything. anyways, just be careful to where you type your passwords. GR7
Report your complaints to the Better Business Bureau and there is no way paypal will stay open, especially if everyone who has been screwed complains. gee......are you dramatic or what? just cause someone had problems with the system doesnt mean you have the right to try and shut a company down. id like to do that to your business...but hell, i dont think you own one. HellBender
gee......are you dramatic or what?just cause someone had problems with the system doesnt mean you have the right to try and shut a company down. id like to do that to your business...but hell, i dont think you own one. Even if they tried, 10-20 complaints wont do crap. A large portion (25% or more) of the customers have to complain before they'll actually shut it down. xpablo
Well I never keep money in my paypal acct, also I only put money in when i want to buy something and pay by paypal. I have a paypal debit card, but it doesnt work in Canada. Also paypal always warns you to use httpS://www.paypal.com even if you type in www.paypal.com is should bring you to https://www.paypal.com everyday I get some idiot spamming me saying he's from paypal and I need to update my account, each time it's comming from a different IP. Also I think stealing from people's paypal accounts is the same US Federal offence as stealing from someones bank account.
DELTA75329
Give me a break... what proof does anyone have that PayPal was hacked? (The correct term would be cracked, for those of you who wanna get it right) All you people deleting your credit cards from PayPal are doing the right thing though; I wouldn't store that information to begin with just in case PayPal was ever actually cracked. But, really now, take a look at the way the first post was written. LPC is complaining he got "hacked", but after reading that and his subsequent posts a couple times over, it seems to me this dude is a couple of cans short of a six pack. He offers no evidence to support his ridiculous claim, save that something looks strange in his account. OK, that's a start, but why not contact PayPal? Where is the correspondence from PayPal that might lend some credence to this? And don't gimme any crap about how they wouldn't want to help; it's in PayPal's own best interest to make sure they are secure. So again, why not contact them directly and work with them? After that question get answered, perhaps he might consider being a little more vigilant online. Those of you with no ?faith? in purchasing online really ought to just to come right out and be upfront about what the real problem is: it?s not a lack of faith, it?s a lack of basic sense. (I don?t call it ?common sense? as that would be an oxy-moron.) This thread exists because this dude isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and therefore something got missed.:hmmm: :hmmm: EDIT: additional comments Edited December 29, 2003 by DELTA75329
NeoSigma
it's in PayPal's own best interest to make sure they are secure. well, if this guy is truly and ex-paypal employee then I would never trust paypal Paypal whistle blower
b0se
gee......are you dramatic or what? Thats quite a statement coming from someone who installs key loggers to get peoples info that he doesnt like so he can '**** them up'. Jstphish only gave people who have had trouble the option to complain officially.
Bling3k12
Psh... I only use my PayPal account with trusted users and occasionally on eBay auctions. The last few transactions are ones in which I personally knew the person, and it's a whole lot faster and easier than checks and cash. I have no worries. Jstphish only gave people who have had trouble the option to complain officially. i could easily beat them physically, but i'd get expelled from school or even sued....so i just kind of did a more intelligent thing and screwed them without them knowing it was me. PLUS, what the hell does DRAMATIC has to do with installing a keylogger? agressive, maybe.....mean, maybe.....but dramatic? get the definition correct ok? Jstphish could have given the option to compain in a more polite way, not "yeaaah lets shut it down". its a useful service, plus it wasnt hacked. the guy just got his password intercepted or something. last thing....i dont like making enemies online so......lets leave it at this. i just told him what someone could be doing to him so he was more careful. Jimmerz28
Yes, visit paypalsucks.com, a source for complete, unbiased information. Lol unbiased, I think the websites name itself defeats that one. Yea def. check to see if you have keyloggers, virus(s) and such on your computer. I made sure mine was very complex, try using a variation of capital letters, numbers, and *!&@#$ signs. Sorry to hear that he's getting away with it..the ****er. macf13nd
paypal is almost certainly secure... they have too much at stake not to ensure that this is the case. and its not like they don't have the money to invest in security....
