How much debt do you have?

Recommended Posts

only the normal mortgage and college tutition for a certain overly indulged daughter.

Was going to indulge myself and take the 40k USD I had saved to buy a Merc for the first time last month and that would have been only a 30% down payment. I've never been one to spend on myself.

Changed my mind, figured I could use it to upgrade all my kayaking and dive gear, sys and still have enough to buy a new car in the "sane" economic realm ;)

Only have had one CC, AMEX since I was 22 and have never ran into debt. I know some people who should not be allowed to have debit/atm cards, they toss the reciepts away and give no thought to their bank balance.

I have no debt at the moment. Thankfully I have paid all medical bills and other debts. I will be taking over the payments on the PLUS loan that was used for my education this year. That is almost 6k. Not too bad though!

About ?6,000 on my car, ?3000 on student loan, ?650'ish on a credit card and ?230 on my iPod.

Not too bad.. pretty good in this day and age i'd say:); :)

It's over $30,000 US right now. I went to a really expensive university and even with all the scholarships that's about how much I have to pay back. I also have a loan for a musical instrument that's about $7k and I typically run $1000 under on my credit card.

Ah, life as a graduate student.

i'm about $10400.00 in debt...$10,000 becuase car payments and 400.00 on credit card which will get paid off bye end of month anywayz...I never put more on my credit card then I will be able to pay off at end of month

You gotta think about it though...when they say U.S. is most in debt its actually kinda a good thing...meaning great economy because like my parents are like in 300,000 in debt but thats because of house, and two new cars.

I got married recently and have a mortgage.

No figures, but lets just say the two don't mix well.

But if you manage your money well, you can overcome debt slowly but surely.

I don't have too much debt, but in keeping my debt low I've screwed up my credit. When I was going to school in Hawaii I bought a car with a $5000 loan from the credit union. Well, needless to say, I'm back in California now and still paying on the loan PLUS I don't even have the car anymore

Now that I'm back here, I got another car through a lease and a co-sign, but it is catching up on me. I start my medical program next fall so I have about 7 months to get everything straightened out plus some cushion in the bank. I am glad this happened while I'm relatively young (23) and not when I'm older and have a family. I guess life's little lessons are the most important ones.

I'll be glad when Xmas is over...

My Debt level is at about 54,000 UK pounds.

I have no car.

I have no Mortgage.

I have no item of any serious worth.

I have more t-shirts than anyone else on this planet, and a DVD collection only surpassed by Blockbusters.

I am stupid.

Without the long story involved in each case

3,400$ from student loans

4,500$ to my grandmother

1,400$ Credit Card

600$ to friend

Total 9,900$

Tho I been out of work since i finished school at the end of 2002, I took a job at walmart a couple weeks ago (I was very lucky to get it considering i live in quebec and don't have french) so that I can at least start paying back my grandmother and friend back.

Nothin... actually out of debt by a lot. I really scrimped and saved when I was young, and had enough to pay for university without a loan. No.. parents or family not rich / upper class by any means.

Just dont blow your money on stuff you dont really need... dont buy a new comp every 6 months. The sig in my system below brought me up from a 486DX2 a year ago.

Between my girlfriend and I we have about $22,000 Cdn. And we just paid off a visa, a mastercard, Staples card, and some people we owed money to. Now it's just the bank and car left.

Once school is all said and done with (which is in May), I'll be about $40,000 in debt just from school loans. I'll also need a car which will probably put me back close to another $10,000. Here's to hoping I can find a good job after college.
