dankduke Posted March 17, 2014 Share Posted March 17, 2014 I'm trying to install Win8 from USB stick onto my XPS 12 by dell. i was just trying to re-format and reload everything and man i wish i hadnt' i completelyl wiped the drive and formatted, cleared all partitions...and im just stuck now... i have tried everything from rebuilding the boot record, turning secure boot off u name it...so i ask for any assistance that i may be missing.... I make it to the install windows selection and it says copying files, then expanding files and makes it over 80-90% and then boom... red error message. ?Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Do you have any trial copies of any other versions of windows, or any os for that matter? as you might need to redownload that media again..
