Steven Anderson
Hi, I'm needing some help. I'm trying to alter some track information to tidy it up (I downloaded it and the information is pretty sloppy (PS, before anyone starts about downloading, this album is not available in Scotland so this is the only way I could get it since it came out like 5 years ago)). The problem is iTune won't let me. All the text is greyed out (see below) When I checked the folder the tracks are contained in I saw this (see below) Saw somewhere on here that this doesn't mean the folder is read-only, but for some reason I can't alter the track information anyway. My system is: Windows 7 Processor: AMD Phenom II P840 Triple-Core Processor 1.90 GHz RAM: 6GB System type: 64-bit OS Any and all help would be great. The Evil Overlord
I find that Windows Media Player can add/remove certain information directly from it's UI, failing that, try taking ownership of the file, or make a copy of the file with all attributes removed from the windows explorer, then adding the attributes you wish to keep in the 'Details' tab of the individual file You can uncheck the 'read only' to see if it helps, you can always recheck it after you're done also DB poweramp (if it is still available) has the ability to edit id tags
Xenon
Leave iTunes and open your file manager. Choose your music files and right click on them, Then uncheck read only. Start iTunes again and it should work.
