does anyone makes good money on neowin?

Recommended Posts

Would like to know if anyone that works for Neowin make good money or everyone is part time just to keep the site up and running? Funny because a lot of the newer tech site verge and Engadget make a lot of money.

I presume the large majority of Neowin staff work on a voluntary basis.. Obviously it's nobody's business how much paid staff are paid, but it's run by a company owned by another company so you'd presume it's making a decent return for them.

Is there such a thing as "bad" money

This ^

Neowin is an independant while Engadget and Verge are backed by.. well, backers (media venture companies) with a lot more dosh to throw around, that's also the reason the verge was able to start up as a complete package rather than grow like we have had to do over the last 14 years.

I'm not going to reveal how much any of us make at Neowin (it's nobodies business), but we all wish it could be a little more :p

Edit: Although Neowin is owned for 40% by Stardock, we're self sufficient. We don't have the luxury of a yearly budget from a backer.

Woah, Daniel speaks.

Felt like we had a Steve Jobs (Steven P.) and then Steve Wozniak (Daniel F.) moment there...

/Wise person: Some people don't need shout about their presence, they quietly pull the strings behind the scenes  :p

I wish I made more than I do... but comparatively speaking.. I do better than a lot of people.

Don't we all wish we'd make more than we do?

In the end I make enough to allow for a comfortable lifestyle. With the added benefits of 'socialist' Europe - free health care, 30 days p.a. paid time off etc.

I really can't complain too much.

I hear John Callaham makes over $250,000 a year with his articles.

I hear he drives a Lamborghini and has a holiday home in Dubai.

I hear he?s the man who fixed the World?s Series back in 1919.

30 days? :o

I think I'd be willing to take a pay cut for that!
