cosrocket
All of a sudden if I want to log out of my Microsoft account and log into a local account in Windows 8.1, I can't...When I click on disconnect and enter or try to create a new local account I get the following message: "We?re sorry but something went wrong. Your Microsoft account wasn?t changed to a local account Code: 0x80070057" I checked that error code and do not see anything specificly regarding creating a local account in Windows 8.1. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to rectify this problem?

Try logging in with your Microsoft Live Account, then try to create a local account within Computer Management, by right-clicking the start menu button area in the lower left, select Computer Management. Once this is open go to System Tools->Local Users and Groups->Users and then right-click to try and create a new user. You might also be able to change your account to a local account by pressing the People App button or searching for it in the in the Start Screen.
