Game of the Year?Madden NFL 2004
You're kidding, right?
Most Anticipated Game?Halo 2

Oh I'd have to say Half Life 2 actually took that one.

Best Animation?Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
What, for the "bounce" factor?
Best Game Based on a Movie?Enter the Matrix

Only because there were no other games to fight for this title.

Best PC Game?Halo: Combat Evolved

Highly doubt it.

Whoever decided what games would win should be banned from ever deciding anything again.

The vote was online, on the SpikeTV website.

That's all I'm saying, I'm refusing to express any opinions on the show for undisclosed reasons.

All I have to say is KOTOR kicked ass and Im glad that one won something, but what about Max Payne 2? The storyline was awesome...

Next year they should have a category for the eqiuvalent of "best screenplay", so game with good storylines can get something too.

If they had best Storyline, then marathon would still win. Hasn't been a storyline like that since.

Too bad M$ bought bungie and now they suck. *cries*

WHat has bungie made since MSFT bought them that has sucked? I am questioning the basis of your statement.

As am I, Bungie has made no actions aside from announcing Halo 2 and giving consent to port the original to PC.

For all of you that hated the show, take in mind it was on Spike tv which is not a very popular or well established station so the fact that it's on there, is quite sad. Also, the voting was done online but how much was it advertised to even stir up voters? I never heard anything about it until I was flipping by it on my tv one day and saw the commercial. It's simple, they need better organization if they intend for this to be a great event and for the awards to be of better quality. Sorry, just wanted to say that there would be much more to hate about it if it was on NBC or a larger station that actually meant something.

I have to say, it's pretty interesting to see a sports game win Game of the Year. Usually, the best games of the year are adventure or action games.

The show really sucked in my opinion, though. They had NO nominees, just winners, which takes away the whole suspense of the awards show. Also, that wrestling match in the middle of the awards show was so weird and stupid. It reminded me why I hate wrestling.

The show itself just seemed so immature, so adolescent boyish. I wasn't that impressed at all. Next year, I'd like to see it taken a little more seriously.

It was seriously like they wrote down a list containing every reason why people watch and/or like awards shows, and then proceeded to do the exact opposite

It's great seeing gaming get more TV time and all, but jeez.

I really think the Gta series should of won for game of the year b/c i havent seen a game that has been so popular like this and even to go as far as makeing some groups mad and come out in the news about how horrible that game is for our children to play. So I say if a game can make my parents ask me what is up with this game which they never have had intrest in my gameing that shows me some one did some thing that sticks out pretty good enough to make people wonder why.

Game of the Year should be chosen on gameplay, not popularity...which is what seemed to have happened here at Spike. I don't think the Double Pack counts as a new game, anyway (the last GTA came out last year, can't win GOTY).

KOTOR was the best experience I've had all year...up with it are Wind Waker, Call of Duty, and Max Payne 2. I actually can't think of any others, going to need to go refresh my memory.
