Niels
There's been a lot of ruckus about this one, especially after the demo. From what i've heard we're getting a ported X-Box game cut down to pieces due to the X-Box's lacking hardware power. I'm really p*ssed off about that, how about you? {X_G_T}
I've not played the demo yet, but after seeing the commercials for that game......I'm more than looking foward to the game :-P
noir
I've played the demo and am not impressed, it felt to much like a dumbed down console port, things like location specific damage is something I missed.
Dessimat0r
Has Deus Ex: IW still got the stupid shading style, where you can't actually see anything?
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted December 4, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 4, 2003 I've been dissapointed with what I've read so far but part of it may just be because I've set rediculously high expectations based on DX1. I really want to play the demo but this blasted 56k i'm stuck on wont allow it.
Keldyn
DX: IW seems to be missing all the nice features that made the first so great. What a disappointment.
Niels
I agree that the graphics were always a tad 'different' in Deus Ex, the demo sure didn't help, dark graphics which disoriented. Poor show ion storm.
Akuma-San
Damn what a dissapointment DX:IW demo was when comparing it to the good old original one. Definately felt like a dumbed down version. Oh, well couple months and time for HL2 and mayby Doom3. Just hope IonStorm dont f**kup Thief III like this also, loved both of the previous ones. ~Bull}{Dog~
Try the full game, its FAR from dumbed down. Story is stunning, and the actual choices you get to make are a very nice addition. Its a great sequal, but its more than the original with an updated engine. Now to me thats a good thing, but a lot of people on the Ion Storm boards dont like the idea. So far most of complaints are basically flawed, not many of them make sense and are badly researched. Half an hour on a demo does not tell you a thing about a game. Oh, and before someone tells me the game is badly coded because it doesnt work on a 486 can go **** 'emselves :)
fozzie22
I played the demo, and what a huge disappiontment, I don't think that i'll bother with the full game.

JollyRigger
Granted all of us hated the demo because it didn't impress us enough to buy it. Here's my rant for week. Ion Storm only intended for us to get a glimpse before the DX:IW went Gold Status. Warren Spector has funny way of not giving out too much of the story because he want's us to purchase the game and see the endless possibilities in the games he develops. If I was a mainstream developer I'd do the same. Most demos now don't even impress us anymore so we're forced to chance the $50 on a new game to see for oursleves or throw it on ebay if you don't like it. That's the trend now. Deus Ex: Invisible War is a very good game, but all games have some faults to them. Yes, you need a Powerful System to run it. A high end graphics card is recommended. You may want to invest in having 1GB of System Memory. The New Engine used in this game is so advanced it's makes even the fastest rig out there crawl to it's knees. The Xbox version is somewhat dumbed down but not a whole lot. The Game stutters like crazy on xbox in my experience. I found the PC Version more enjoyable. THose of you people who claim you can run this game on system range of a 486 cpu to a pentium 3 1Ghz with no hassles need to go back to rethink today's technology and come into reality becauses your Insanity level has increased to a dangerous levels which needs you to be in "NUT HOUSE" fro proper treatment and psych eval. Overall If you have the system to handle the game. it's worth your money. -JollyRigger

StuRReaL
DX:IW was quite nice but it lacked ammo, in fact ammo was the only really major argovation and lack of weapons. Thief3 they had better not **** up. For some reason the stealth in DX:IW didn't work properly even when u did manage to sneak up on someone (with the quite mod level3) u couldn't drop em in one go :E I hope the stealth isn't that stupid in Thief3 and then theres System Shock 3 :D i believe thats in the pipeline too (well at least it had better be)

ctebah
yeah, check my sig.. my system isn't perfect by any standards, my vid card is not even dx9 compatible and i ran this game perfectly fine on 1024x768. i never, ever experienced any freezing. sin-ergy
Good points  uh 486? i wasn't aware this game ran on a 486. lets see. i just upgraded from a gf4 4200 to an ati radeon 9800 and i get maybe an extra 5 fps. that's up to what, 30fps? this is at 800*600 .... considering the amount of people complaining about how horribly this game runs, i think it means something. now don't get me wrong. i think de2 is a hit and miss. the story line is great. i'm impressed on that part but now that i've beaten the game, i can't bring myself to put up with the crud graphics and horrible fps to try and get the other endings. not worth my time :/
