Windows 8.1 tiles correction?

Recommended Posts

Use 8.1 on desktop and laptop with same Microsoft account which is set to sync. Some weeks ago the desktop tiles went 'bad' with a cross over many of them, and a few days ago the laptop joined in. The tiles have never synched at all anyway, but now both systems have different and broken tiles.

Any idea what is causing this, or any way to get them syncing the modern apps?

open up the start menu folder and go to the properties for the shortcut that has the problem, select change icon, select the same one as it is currently, okay, apply. do the same thing again. check if the icon's fixed.

Go ahead and open up an admin command prompt and run sfc /scannow to check your drive integrity.

Then try wsreset.exe.

Done. Had a few errors related to driver files, looked fairly normal. No other change.

This isn't anything to do with shortcuts, this is the apps themselves.
