Night Prowler
I tried the Feature Pack when it was leaked by Wzor leak, and had no problems. I imaged back a couple of days later waiting for the official release. I preformed a full disk image before allowing Window update to install the new Feature Pack. Problem: The screen goes black on reboot and it appears something in the bottom left flashes periodically. Moving the mouse is possible, and every so often it get the busy indicator. Rebooted and the same result. I restored my image and back to normal. There are two programs running that might be the problem, but they never had a problem when I installed the feature pack leak from Wzor. 1) Start-8 - The latest 1.4, which is supposed to be ready for the feature pack update. 2) UXTheme Multi-Patcher 9.
xendrome
SHA1 hashes for WZOR's files and the "official" releases were identical for the same files that were released, so that rules out that.
MDboyz
Do you happen to use Virtu MVP? ... I had the issue like that. After uninstall virtu mvp driver, everything was good.
Pam14160
If you are using style extreme to get the styles that could be your problem. . .had the same problem until I removed the theme styler.
Night Prowler
I didn't see any specific drivers that installed, and no 'Virtu MVP'. I'll remove the theme hack and allow the install to happen naturally overnight and see if that does the trick. However it was installed when the Wzor Feature pack was installed, and worked. I did notice one thing, there was a mess of files related to windows and office to install. I selected them all to install, and at the end the large 800meg file was left, and installed by itself as the last file. This is on another Feature Pack Install: The metro start screen looks exactly like the original. The only thing in the top right is name and picture. I thought there is a search and power button associated with the Feature Pack install? Is there a option to turn them on? Also I noticed that when my mouse goes all the way to the bottom on the metro screen it doesn't pop up the desktop taskbar? I know the Feature pack is installed because metro icons can be pinned to the task bar.

Night Prowler
No touch screen. Isn't there an option for a tablet option somewhere?
link6155
I had this problem on one of my laptop when I tried to install the leaked version, however the official windows update seemed to have fixed that for me. Unfortunately on another laptop of mine, I have also received the black screen after installing the update.
+Anarkii Subscriber² Posted April 9, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted April 9, 2014 Start8 is not the problem, I have it installed and it works fine here.
Night Prowler
Just out of curiosity I went ahead and selected to update again. This time I checked all the downloads for being selected. The largest 800meg file was not selected, again. This time I selected all the updates to install and after it installed all the updates and rebooted, everything was good. It appears the root cause was not selecting all the updates at one time, and the updating that one file by itself at the end. +Anarkii 1 Share
