Espada04
My computer was working fine up until Windows told me there were 2GBs worth of recommended updates to the OS. So I did it since they all looked like bug and security fixes. After installing, i rebooted my machine. Now it's stuck on a black screen and goes no where. I get the same issue trying to go into Safe Mode. If I shut the computer off and restart it again I sometimes get the "Preparing Automatic Repairs" then "Diagnosing PC" then the blue screen telling me "Windows was unable to restart" I tried the refresh option but apparently the USB key I used to originally install Windows 8 is no longer a valid installation source. So I can't even refresh or reset my windows installation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. And in the future I will have to think twice doing Windows updates. If this is the result I'd be getting. It's not worth the hassle. :( Apologies if this is not in the right section
fadyfareed
I experienced same issue with my old notebook. I had to press Ctrl+Alt+Dlt then select the task manager every time i log into windows. the metro apps and search functions are stopped working. I tried many solutions but none worked out for me. so I ended up reset-ing my PC using windows 8.1 DVD medium.
