Game of the year

I think that honor is going to go to Prince of Persia this year.

i tested that, but its not as addictive or as good as armed and dangerous,

they combined the ingenuity and humour of classical Lucas Art games like Monkey Island and made a TPS of it. the humour is the best ive seen. but you need a really good graphics card

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time would have stood a chance if it didn't have such a horrible combat system, that was the only letdown in the game for me. Hell, it wouldn't have been as bad if the enemies couldn't warp right next to you and surround you.

The platforming side of things was great fun though. The game did seem to lack a bit of polish in one or two other areas as well, but no game is perfect I suppose.

I have a feeling that Windwaker will be getting GOTY this year, it really was an incredible game - I loved the artstyle.

prince of persia cannot win because they locked out atleast a million gamers who have half the dozen graphics card which, if you have, prince of persia will not allow you to play the game. it includes ATI and Geforce cards

According to the VGA's (Video Game Awards) which played last night, December 4th at 9pm on SpikeTV, Madden 2004 won GOTY, which is just rediculous if you ask me.

And yes, they were including PC and Console games i believe

We're talking about a different GOTY award, the one that developers and gaming press get to vote on.

SpikeTV's was an internet poll.

Max Payne 2 is certainly in the running, though I haven't yet had the chance to try a number of things like Call of Duty or Prince of Persia, (or even Frozen Throne or Freedom Fighters, based upon ratings?) that sound like they'd be up there.

Would assume Grand Theft Auto : Vice City is unlikely to be considered, as well as even stuff like Tron 2.0.

From what I've read / heard / tried, would expect it's Max or Call of Duty.

Damn, I almost forgot about TFT, but It'd be hard for an expansion to win GOTY.

no console games amazed me this year.

My assumptions in order:

Max Payne 2 - PC

Call Of Duty - PC

Homeworld 2 - PC

i will be hugely dissapointed if none of them win it

I'm going say Tron 2.0. Not only is it game of the year in my opinion it's also one of the greatest games of all time (in my opinion again).
