It's nice to see people taking part!

I haven't seen an image yet that hasn't impressed me in some way.

PS. Thanks for posting that link Spyder, I hadn't checked that Keldyn Buys a DIgital Camera thread b4, but now that I know what its all about I will regularly visit.

I live in Toronto, ON, Canada :)

Here's a image of what Dundas Square will look like in 2yrs or so, which is a little corny version of Times Sq. LOL... and finally it's all being built! :)

Great idea for this thread! :o :D

I live in one of the famous and oldest town in Central Queensland, Australia called Mount Morgan. This town is known for its gold mining that took place in the 1800-early 1900. The majority of my family tree have lived here. It is a very quiet place with about 7000 people living here. We do have services like police, ambo, fire, and the usual shops (most are locally owned and operated). The climate can be very bad some times but we do get lovely rain that fills up our big dam that provides water to the town. The nearest town to Mount Morgan is Rockhampton with a population of about 60 000 to 75 000 people. I visit the city for shoppings which is only about half an hour away from Mount Morgan.

The picture below is of the now abandoned Gold Mine's open cuts. I am in the process of creating a new page on my homepage regarding Mount Morgan.

I don't know where to begin to express my feelings about this thread. If only there was a "Favorite Thread of the Year Poll", this one gets my vote! Thanks Jelly2003, for this great topic!

Now here, take a look at the great city of Chicago aka "Windy City", home of the Cubs (MLB, Baseball Team).

I can see we have people from everywhere perhaps seeing these attached images, so i'll be brief but specific to what you see!

-This one is part of the skyline, and we are lucky to share one of the greatest sources of Freshwater in the world, Lake Michigan. The tall building on the right is the John Hancock Bldg, I think it's an insurance co. Don't quote me on that.

-Buckingham Fountain, it's real nice as you can see, lots of change in the water. The tallest building is the Standard Oil Building, otherwise known as the Amoco Building, but since Amoco I believe was purchased by British Petroleum, it may have changed title.

-I think that's the Chicago River, we actually dye it green for St. Patrick's Holiday sometimes, (Christmas is red with a theme of Santa, right? Well St Pat's Day is Green and main theme is Clover Leaf). The drawbridge is there because the river joins Lake Michigan.

-The Main building here is the Wrigley building (big white one). Ever eaten Wrigley Gum :) The drawbridge there is actually part of the Magnificent Mile (it's a real nice street, because of the stores on it, very expensive stores. It's called Michigan Avenue.)

-Lakefront Picture, the tower farthest to the right is Lakepoint Towers I believe, and it has a great restaurant on the roof. It's actually a circle and turns while people dine. The plates are pretty expensive, the food's great.

-Museum of Science and Industry, very hard to find parking there on the weekends. I think one of the weekdays admissions are free.

-This building in the center is called the Doral Building, I believe it was a Museum on some of the floors, I'm probably wrong. Never been to it myself. The corn buildings to the right of it are a grand parking lot, The Marina Towers. Half are parking, the rest are condos. A friend of my family designed those buildings! I think they're a compliment to the uniqueness of Chicago! There's a House of Blues just beside it (only about 3-4 stories high, so you won't see it in the picture).
