Things to do while my adsl updates?

Recommended Posts

Well Next week my change adsl providers from bt 27 pounds a month to someone ells to ?19.50 a month, but when I change Im told it can be up to 2 weeks for my connection to be changed over so what can I do in that time I live off the net and im not going to use 56k I cant take that for two weeks, any idea of things I can do for two weeks with no net!

I use dialup by choice and i think its pretty sad you cannot use it for a couple weeks whilst changing over. ISPs generally offer a dialup account with the adsl, so if you joined a new one, you should have it available instantly.

No not sad at all. I would agree with him 100 percent.

I went to a friends house and used his ADSL wile mine was being set up. I could not, would not use 56k again. And since he is usally he or I am over there it was not to bad. 56k is just not an option any more. Once you have had Highspeed.

I have cable at home :D

But at work we recently started going through the corporate proxy, but cuz I work in the IT dept. I still have access to the old 4meg pipe which is used by probably 50 people max (and at any one time no more then say 5).

So when I get home, its like - this is sooooo slow !!!

Anyway - use dialup while you get ur new ADSL. You'll be slow for a fortnight, but after you'll appreciate the speed again. :woot:

Sorry but i disagree 100%

I use adsl and cable at work, while im at work, at home my system would be downloading using 56k. I dont see the justification of getting adsl when Australia is so far behind the rest of the world in regards to pricing for adsl and cable(expensive)

I go between my ADSL and 56K dial up heaps. I cant stand 56K, and wish i coul dhave my ADSL everywhere I go.

But 56k is better then nothing.

Its probably good that you are going without the net Daniel.Teed, its too damn addictive and in 2 weeks who knows what you could achieve with the free time you will have!
