iBook Logic Board died!

Recommended Posts

Alright, recently I got a really beat up ibook from an old high school teacher of mine. he had dropped it on the floor and wrecked the Hard Disk so he was going to junk it. I was just going to replace the drive but while working on it the dreaded logic board problem hit it. The board just dies. You can still start up the computer, you hear the wonderful apple noise at startup but no video, even with the external monitor. I was just curious how many ibook users on neowin have run into this problem?

Considering I've never dropped my iBook on the floor, I haven't found any reason to run into it...

And how does that help greend139?

I have not. And I haven't dropped mine, so I would guess he's got nothing he's able to do, really :/

well actually i should i should have said, it worked just fine after it was dropped besides the dead HD. It was only about 2 weeks later that the logic board died.

my guess is the logic board isn't dead...

try going to forums.macrumors.com and asking there. i know there are lots of things you can do to try to fix it, i'm just not 100% sure of what the shortcuts are to do them anymore.

sorry i couldn't help more.
