This thread contains information, files and artwork for the upcoming campaign entitled the Siege of Troy.

Basic Storyline

The story focuses upon the great war between the Greek Empire and the Trojan Empire. The campaign takes the focus of the beginning (arrival of the Greeks), A small part of the middle & end of the war (the invasion of Troy) and the sub plot of the kidnapping of Helen, daughter of the Spartan king to guide through the story.

People involved in the campaign:

Yes, it is a campaign currently being created for AOM: TT by the community. It is not supported or endorsed by either Microsoft or Ensemble Studios.

The campaign will feature movies, cinematics, scenarios, AI scripting, storyline, new units etc.

NOTE: We are currently looking for people to fill the roles of voice talent, if you think you have a good voice create a small mp3 file and post it here in which you say:

"I am King Agamemnon, ruler and commander of Mycanae" (Mycanae is pronounced MY SAN EE) if you are male or

"I am Helen of Sparta, the most beautiful women in the land" if you are female.

It's me from Gaming Forums, as you would have guessed.

Units created/in progress for the campaign:

Trojan Warrior [Dozza]

Trojan Cavalry [Coolsk8er]

Other units that will be included: Laden, Griffon, Trojan Bowmen, Trojan Commander.

I am going to do the Laden, if i can, and the Trojan Bowmen. Then the rest are Coolsk8ers.

;) Come on, every male with a deep, clear voice is good enough for one of the hero characters!

Hey matt, what about giving people the option of characters, providing they are good enough, say...

If you are male, with a deep strong voice you say Agememnons peice and if you have a clear, soft and cutting voice you say soemthing to do with paris.

Same with the females: Im sure you are to have more female characters? Right?

Also, what are you going to do about other voices: Warriors, Villagers and such, i think that every peice of dialog should have it's sound! I know it will be hard but we can do it.

:D I'll try make a wallpaper for it, yours has a few things that wouldn't have anyhting to do with troy on it, not that its bad, it just dont fit. The only bit that fits is the title, lol. When units are found i can do an ingame wallpaper: Black background, different units, close up, and a nice title. I'll see what i can do.

Good to see the units coming along, as for dialog I will wait until we see how many people actually apply first. I know that the wallpaper is not very good, it was just because nothing existed. Using new units for wallpaper would be a great idea!

This explains almost all the events but if you have any more questions regarding any misunderstandings then ask on.

Thanks for the heads up, after reading that it seems as if there is no one accurate account of what happened. Hence the campaign will use several characters (already in AOM) a few new created ones for the campaign. For the story we will use major events to guide the campaign e.g. the armada, trojan horse etc.

Also of good news, just finished the second map and AI script. Will be moving onto map 3 which focuses on the armada section of the story.

Have Dozza or Cool Skater finished either the Paris or Helen units yet as creating some cinematics without them is becoming difficult!

The following are all of the new units that must be produced for the campaign (thanks to Sarrow's research):

NOTE: Modders, we may add other units later but these units must be done first as they are crucial to the campaign.

Paris - Trojan Prince

Helen - Daughter of Spartan King

Hector - Trojan Hero & General of forces

Trojan Commander - VIP of trojan forces, not as powerful as Hector and not a hero

Trojan Captain - Weaker than commander yet not as weak as say a hoplite (myrimidon)

Agamemnon needs to be modified (however in terms of the game he is a new unit)

Agamemnon -> King Agamemnon (same base unit, with (& attacks with) sword & shield, make him slightly stronger)

Possible proto settings & unit rollover text to follow.

There will be ten scenarios for the campaign, their contents & story will be posted shortly...

The following scenarios will be included in the campaign (with a brief synopsis of their content)

Cinematic 1 - Helen is kidnapped, Agamemnon joins the war

Scenario 1 - Agamemnon lands and with the help of Ajax destroys the small trojan camp (Uses Trojan Captain)

Cinematic 2 - Polyphemus escapes Agamemnon's wrath

Scenario 2 - A forward command centre is built and the small camps of Ajax & Achilles either side must be defended. (Uses the Trojan Commander)

Cinematic 3 - Helen arrives at Troy to learn who she has been kidnapped by.

Scenartio 3 - Away from Troy, a fleet is in the process of going to Troy, you must defend the docks from pirates. While it prepares to sail (this map brings Odyessus & Chiron into the story)

Cinematic 4 - The fleet sails and arrives at port, Agamemnon takes the fight to Troy

Scenario 4 - A very large map eventually leading to the fall of the second major army commanded by Hector

Cinematic 5 - Achilles slays Hector and a great victory is declared, yet the command centre has been attacked.

Scenario 5 - The command centre has been destroyed in their absence, they must defend what little is left until the great trojan horse is built.

Cinematic 6 - Trojans destroy the remainder of the camp and take the horse into Troy

Scenario 6 - The small force inside the horse must make their way through the city to open the main gates

Cinematic 7 - The gates are torn down and the greeks told to enter

Scenario 7 - The greeks must invade and capture the city of Troy

Cinematic 8 - The greek forces enter Troy, learn that Paris is not there and that he is about to attack Troy itself.

Scenario 8 - The greeks must hold out until the city is searched to ensure Helen is not still there.

Cinematic 9 - The greeks flee the city as the massive army of Paris overwhelms them

Scenario 9 - The greeks muster a large force and attack the Trojans beating the army of Paris.

Cinematic 10 - Helen is freed from her kidnappers, Arkantos informs Agamemnon it is now over & that Paris has fled to the dead marshes of Troy, only a small force will join him due to the danger described by Arkantos. Helen is put aboard ship and returned to Sparta.

Scenario 10 - Agamemnon enters the marshes to find ruins and evil spawns of Tartarus. He must make his way through the ruins and defeat Paris once and for all at the great Trojan Temple.

Cinematic 11 - The remaining forces of Paris and Agamemnon attack but are destroyed by tartarian spawns while we are made aware that they are controlled by the powers of a greater foe.

Final Cinematic - Meanwhile Helen is thankfully returned to her father however they remain worried at the danger presented by the new foe.

Ending Credits

Phew! thats the layout of the story, this is pretty much set in stone, but small adjustments are very much welcome.

Regarding a cinematic trailer for the campaign, anyone know of a good movie screen capture program e.g. to record some action running inside AOM (without a large amount of lag!!!)

Well that turned out to be a bit of a lost cause. The images were far to stuttery to use in a trailer. Anyone know how to convert a cinematic into an AVI.

Alternatively what does ensemble studios use to create their trailers????

This is good but theres a long wait time for your eneding but ou could fix it fine, once yiu fixed it send to aomfiles for files sumbission.
