Just got a PS Vita. What games should I get?

PS+ is a must as you get several games for free right off the bat.

 

RPG

Ys: Memories of Celceta

Final Fantasy X / X-2

 

Platformer

(MUST HAVE) Tearaway

Little Big Planet

 

Shooters

Borderlands 2

Killzone: Mercenaries

 

Indie

Terraria (free next month on PS+)

Spelunky

 

Also the Uncharted game was fun. Gravity rush is alright.

Already got Borderlands 2 for the Vita, and my friend will be sending me Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster as soon as he finds a copy or once it goes back in stock as every store he checked the game was sold out, which sucks.

 

P.S. If any other forum members have game suggestions, please let me know as I just got the system, and only have 2 games for it.

In no particular order, these are the games I believe are the best overall experience on the Vita, and I have even played some of their console/PC counterparts.

 

Hotline Miami (controls seem weird at first, then just make complete sense)

either Rayman game

Killzone Mercenary

Tearaway

Spelunky

Wipeout 2048 (load times are a tad ridiculous though)

Super Stardust Delta

Sound Shapes

Guacamelle

Urban Trial Freestyle (a total Trials HD rip off, but actually decent fun)
Retro City Rampage

Super Crate Box

 

and last but not least, the must own title so far of 2014

And although they are not my types of games, people rave about Persona 4 and some people also like Soul Sacrifice

What about Resistance Burning Skies? Not sure if you're a fan of the franchise and i know it's not the most impressive game technically on Vita, but from what i played of it it's nice as a shooter and as part of the story. Plus it's cheap now. If you like challenging puzzlers, then Limbo is also out on Vita now i believe.

What about Resistance Burning Skies? Not sure if you're a fan of the franchise and i know it's not the most impressive game technically on Vita, but from what i played of it it's nice as a shooter and as part of the story. Plus it's cheap now.

I liked Burning Skies. If you dont think of it as a Resistance game, it's a solid fps. Hard at times too.

That's an interesting take on it, from the little I played on a colleague's Vita it was great because it was a Resistance title, and i'm a fan of the series. As a standalone i'd say it was kind of bland, the visuals really didn't push PS Vita at all.

 

If you like RPGs Persona 4 is pretty much King.

Terraria is awesome as well.

Two games I must of put 50~100 hours into, each.

 

Terraria is definitely fun, but very challenging!

Thanks everyone for the game suggestions! I just got Final Fantasy X/X-2 last weekend (May 31-June 1) and I'm really enjoying playing Final Fantasy X so far. Will check out some of the other games you guys have suggested soon. :)

PS+ is my favourite game. It's like the game library just appears all by itself :P

 

But seriously, Everybody's Golf and Wipeout are more than enough to sell me on Vita, never mind the indie ports it's receiving.
