History has announced a new four-hour miniseries about Knights Templar.

The network is teaming up with Bonnie & Clyde executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron on the project, which will track the origins of the medieval Christian order.

The series, written by Hotel Rwanda's Keir Pearson, will tell the story of three brothers who are all knights during the first Christian Crusade, as they make the journey through the Holy Lands to recapture Jerusalem.

Both Zadan and Meron also recently signed on to return as producers for the Oscars for the third year running. They are also working on NBC's Peter Pan, a follow-up to their live version of The Sound of Music last year.
