mrelusive978
:ninja: Anyone know how to mount network shares at startup? The shares all share the same login/password and are all on the same server. :ninja: Picture_1.pdf
Island Roots
This may be possible via an AppleScript that you can put in your Startup Items. Otherwise, another option would be to connect to them, then drag the servers to your dock and when you reboot, all you need to do is click on the icons in your dock and they connect. Wickedkitten Veteran Posted December 8, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 8, 2003 its dead easy, open up accounts under system preferences, click startup items under your account name and drag the mount icons over.
Southern Patriot
Thanks Wickedkitten, I've been wondering how to do that since I got my PowerBook. I guess I should have tried the obvious solution. One thing annoying though is that with Windows, there is simply a check box when you are connecting a share to always mount it at startup, so I kind of wish there was something that simple in OS X. the evn show
IMHO shares should always remount whenever they are available unless you manually unmount them. IE: you connect to \\server\music and mount it. you leave the network, \\server\music unmounts you come home \\server\music remounts you unmount \\server\music you go away you come back - the share doesn't mount again. Don't apples HIG say something about always restoring windows to their previous state in order to remain consistent...(not like the care much about that anymore)
