hoyablue
My AppleCare warranty covers dead pixels so I can find all the pixels I like and get the screen replaced.
[idkfa]
looks nice, too bad I don't have any dead pixels ;)
SkyFox
Apple Care does that, but this prevents the hassle of having to wait for a new monitor. I'd rather fix any dead pixels (should any develop) in a few minutes than a few days.

Concept04
Well Version 5 is out now: On VersionTracker On MacUpdate Enjoy!
Pilsbury
doesn't work on tubes :( CRT's don't have pixels in the same way as TFT's if you have a dead area, the mask has moved, probably due to heavy handling. That's a physical problem, and software ain't going to fix it.
fuzzy_logic
If my Powerbook had a single dead/stuck pixel and it's under AppleCare, would I be able to get it fixed for free? I know some other LCD manufacturers requires a fixed number of dead pixels before they will fix it for free.
bontakun
anybody have a working link for this, my ibook has two dead pixels, and is it true that applecare will cover any dead pixels? because i'd pay for applecare if that meant a no dead pixels for sure
divinatum
4 or more. all this does is show you if you have any, then you try the massage trick
bontakun
4 or more is ludicris, the iso standard (which almost all lcd makers use) is 2 on 15" screen my 14.1 inch ibook has two, i called apple and they made me take it to a tech here in town and she said they wouldn't replace it and my only option would be to call them and tell them i'd return it over quality concerns, but i'm not a good bluffer, i'm too attached to this thing to actually let it go, but 2 pixels are too much, especially since they're near the center so i notice them on every window i open (and with massage i've managed to get them to go from black to red, not really sure that's an improvement), but if i could find more bad pixels i'd have a case to get it replaced (hopefully), i remember not that long ago, before lcds and laptops went so everybody needed one that we never really had a dead pixel problem
ZiUL
can you "kill" a pixel? let's say you got 3... so you need just one more to get a replacement... :p

suspiria
"Therefore a certain number of subpixel anomalies is considered acceptable." **Taken right from Apple** I have a single dead pixel on my 1 month old iBook. Thank God it's on the far left side of the screen, but still, i wish i could get it fixed. Rubbing it did jack squat.

Any chance anyone could give me a copy of the demo? I could probably even host a mirror of it for a few days. Dougal.
