I don't necessarily disagree about the hardware, but unless you are getting it at discount, I'm not sure the what, $400-500 difference for a smaller screen is worth it at the entry level, retina or not.

 

Your config does make it a harder choice as they are within a couple hundred or so, but I think I'd still take the touchscreen. ;)

Eh, I have a Surface Pro 2, and I don't use the touchscreen unless I'm drawing/writing on the tablet. I've had another W8 laptop with touchscreen, and to me it was just a gimmick. You have to also keep in mind that the rMBP comes with a i5 4258U CPU which is better than the standard i5 4200U/4300U CPU's found in most Windows ultrabooks, not to mention the rMBP has better Intel integrated GPU's (Iris 5100 vs. HD4400)
