d33
hello, I hope this is the perfect forum for this topic. ;) just go to google and search for the term "miserable failure" (without " ") and see the results. Top result u will see will be Biography of President George W. Bush i know many people will take it as funny joke or something but It's NOT. This has happened because google recently changed their Allgorithm..its called Florida. They say that its meant to remove spam sites and all and it also provide wider search results.. but no one expected this to so much wider... many top raking sites are now not even listed in top 100... many companies are facing losses but still no reactions on google people. some people are saying this is done or Christmas they craeted new algorithm for it to mint some money. (pay to get listed on top) but still no one knows the reality..people are trying to findout how to manipulate this algorithm and get higher listing. many Search Engine Experts are worried about it and trying to find out the way out.. any comments on this...? regards Dee

d33
not satisfied?!its workin pefectley u cant fight it, give in basically as a Search Engine Optimization consultant i know what work we do to optimize page according to their stanrds but when after all your hardwork when you see sites spamming with keywods listing on top..make feel real bad.. i have experienced it... in India for gifts sites using 25 lines of keywords in their body comes on top. so all top positions are taking by all the spammers only. so i think the new algorithm of google is not really helping them to stop spam and block those sites. i have complained this to google also but no results. Still those spammers are enjoying. so it not fight or anything...just not satisfied with new algorithm and i m not alone saying this... if you check google's support forums then u will see most of the people discussing about this only.. noir
This may be fun and dandy right now but when advertisers start to use the same method (more about how the Bush thingy was done here) to "fool" the new algorithm, a algorithm that was partly introduced to stop spammers it might just do the opposite. Riz360
yeah.... so this post just qualifies as spam Mods!
hoyablue
Perhaps if nations pro-actively worked to reduce spam using the resources that they spend on eliminating P2P, they could make some progress. Just throwing it out there...

noir
 wha....? Now: Googles new algorithm links 'miserable failure' to GW Bush after a horde of blogs linked that term to whitehouse.gov. Possible scenario: Advertisers do the same thing, create loads of pages with popular terms linking to their site.

i3iz
I honestly don't see how George Bush being the first result signifies that there is something wrong with Google... george W ws never first at anything. This is a huge mistake... this must be the doings of Al Gore (the inventor of the internet) i want a google recount
x2cube
People linked the words "miserable failure" to George Bush's official bio on their blogs and told other people to, so it kept spreading and google indexed the pages and found that "miserable failure" was always being linked to the president's bio so it decided that was the biggest match for miserable failure
