Best way to dispose of massive amounts of paper?

Recommended Posts

This may sound like a dumb situation/question, but just hear me out. I usually have a LOT of paper around my computer (as do most heavy computer users). Usually these papers are used for taking notes, but sometimes they consist of stuff I printed out that I don't need anymore, old homework, etc. I have a problem with disposing this paper. I used to just throw it out, but I've noticed that the way the paper goes into the trash can makes it difficult to put a bunch of papers in there quickly. So what would you suggest as the best way to get rid of all this paper?

I looked into paper shredders, which might help me out. Think it's worth buying a shredder?

i have the same problem. i just keep half stashed in a folder so whenever i need to make drafts or take quick notes, i use already-used paper......or trash paper, and the other half i put it in my trash box.........xcept it isnt too big and it's annoying when i cant put more stuff in it cuz of the paper

burn them? recycle them? yaaah make 'em ashes

It's usually not important paper, just junk. I guess I could start a recycling box or something...it's just that there's not enough room around my desk area to put it. That's why a shredder sounded like a nice idea at first - small and compact, but can hold a lot of paper.

BURN it?

Hah, my mom's a school teacher and she had be burn some paper for her one time. We're talking about file cabinets full. We had a big fire and everything, but the stacks of paper would not burn well. They were stacked together too much and just the outside of each stack would burn. I had a pitch fork and had to try to shuffle everything around. It was a lot harder than you'd think.

But this doesn't seem like it's that much.

Dude, we know it's porno mags you are trying to get rid of. You can just say it.

Anyway, have you ever thought of burning them? Or burying them?
