asy1mpo
Hi i have a just formatted my PC and decided to partition. I forgot to do it at the start so had to go the partition magic route. I have 2 hard disks. ONe 17GB and a 30GB - the 30GB is all one partition with my downloads, mp3s, etc the 17GB - i decided to partition so that the OS was all on its own with about 3 and a half GB so if i defrags it would not takes ages!! My PC is not running as fast. Do you think its becuase the partition is too small. Thanks
Dashel
I would usually recommend a 5GB OS partition but it all depends on the OS. How much memory do you have and do you know what the swap file usage is at? In what way does it seem 'slow'?
Vlad
Dashel is on the right track. If your system is slow it's probably not because of your hard drives. If your computer uses a swap file a lot, you can try putting the swap file on seperate physical drive from your system/programs. You didn't even mention what operating system you're running, before or after..so it's kind of hard to help. It might be wise to formulate a more informative question before you post it on a board.
