Steve
What about the fact the Xbox has the hard drive included (out of the box) that sure is nice! I don't miss worrying how many blocks I have free, or where i left my Memory Card last. Personally, I buy Xbox games, and none on the other platform. GT4 is about the only exception I can think of... My bro owns the GC and the PS2 (The Xbox is mine!), and I don't find them all that great, if anything, I looked @ the GC list of games, and didn't find anything compelling really, but thats personal opinion in full flow... PS2 has a lot of good games, but unfortunately, i am used 2 Xbox, and you tend to notice the difference.. But @ the end of the day, it ALL boils down 2 personal preference... (not just with the hardware, but software - of course, too)
jago
Starman...seriously dude...not everyone has money to throw around like you. I have a 5.1 channel surround sound system setup and my Xbox hooked up to it. So why would I move it across my room to my TV so that I can loose that surround sound capability and play on a 19" monitor rather then my nice 27" TV. If M$ was SMART (which they aren't btw) they would made so component video can be used on MAINSTREAM TV's b/c component video on TV's alot more common. My TV was $330 when I bought a little over a year ago (it was a JVC 27" TV.) Looking at your profile...you were born in 1967...so of course you going to most likely be able to afford a HDTV. But the AVERAGE GAMER doesn't have that kind of money laying around. Take a step back and look at it from a realistic perspective. I think M$ did this only so their games will look kick ass at expos like E3.
jago
...ALL boils down 2 personal preference... (not just with the hardware, but software - of course, too) You hit right on the money my friend...while I would reply to some of what else you said, I won't b/c it might lead to flaming. But you aqre right...everyone has thier opinions and reason why they don't like a certain platform, but urs are valid my friend.
Starman
A 27" HDTV goes for $549 at CC. That's only $200 more than what you spent on your 27" non-HDTV. I think that's a damn good bargain. If M$ was SMART (which they aren't btw) they would made so component video can be used on MAINSTREAM TV's b/c component video on TV's alot more common. What?? nugg3t
i have all 3 consoles, when i bought my ps2, i was always playing it. when i got the xbox. ps2 was starting collecting dust, except when vice city came out. when i bought the gc, i played it for a while, though, when i bought Live, the xbox was always the one connected to the TV. i think xbox beats the ps2 n gc in all category. graphically, the gc can probably beat the xbox in some games. though Live on xbox is f-ing amazing. hella good times on live. though the gc is 100$. good price (Y)
