Pennsylvania Boy Charged With Making Web Threats

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A 12-year-old boy is accused of making death threats against his teachers and fellow students in an online chat room for fans of horror movies, police said.

The boy, who was not identified, was charged Tuesday with making terroristic threats and criminal attempt to possess instruments of crime. The private school also was not identified.

He was evaluated at a hospital and was to be turned over to juvenile authorities, police said.

Police began investigating after a woman in Portland, Oregon saw the threats on the Web site www.horror.com. The woman, Stacey Weighall, said the boy wrote "I'm going insane," that "I'm going to kill my teacher and a lot of other people in my school."

Weighall called police in Pittsburgh, who contacted the FBI. After obtaining the boy's name from the Web site's owner, police went to his home with a search warrant.

A steak knife was found in the boy's school backpack, police said.

I thought if females liked one another they were called lesibans. Aren't men gay, and women lesbian? Or are you insinuating that the olsen twins are male?

I have a schoolmate like him. He is always out to "kill" people but the other kids are really ###### too

They pick on him all the time, knowing full well that he has a bad temper in the first place

I dont think they need the police to get into this (might make the kid more angry)

Some good old fashion parenting and teachers helping too can work much better

There's probably more behind the story. Maybe kids were bullying him or beating on him after school and he felt he needed it for protection. That's definitely no excuse for carrying a knife to school, but I refuse to believe he had the feelings he did for no reason. He should be punished, but so should the ones that drove him to it. His post on the message board could have been so that he could express his feelings and possibly find people who were sympathetic to his situation. Also possibly as a cry for help, which was answered. The call to the police could have saved the life of some of his classmates/teachers as well as his own. Carting the boy off to juvi though isn't the proper solution to the poor kids problem.

The severity of the situation would also differ with age. A child carring a knife to school is definitely wrong, but I carry a knife with me everywhere I go everyday. If I made a post about killing someone the cops would always find my knife on me whether I intended to or not. Do you think that post should be enough to incriminate me though?
