a ninja or a samurai?

the last samurai wasnt even made by a japanese director or written by a japanese screenwriter....

the so called "japanese" words on the posters were chinese words.

so im not sure if it is a reliable source on samurais...

Ninja of course. Samurais used to fear the ninjas, because the ninjas were assasins. A samurai is like a regular, holy soldier. It's true!!! :ninja:

Hm... Shoddy, improvised weapons, life of flight and secrecy, and poverty...or honor, glory, a venerable lifestyle, and a huge friggin' sword....

Yeah, I think I'll take samurai.

Samurai, just look at my signature (the japanese part), it was used by Takeda Shingen, one of the Lord of War in the Sengoku Jidai period ;)

It means:

fast like the wind, silent like the forest

invasive like the fire, firm like the mountain

This should've been a poll. ;)

Anyways, I'd pick Samurai all the way. I'm not a chickensh*t, coward who has to hide in the shadows to kick someone's ass. I'll do it upfront and personal like a samurai would!

Just my personality I guess. :D

Has anybody seen the movie, "The Hunted"? It has Christopher Lambert (Highlander) and it's about samurai vs. ninja. I liked it because it showcased the different fighting styles of the two.

Anybody interested in the whole samurai vs. ninja thing should check it out. It's not the greatest movie, but it's pretty cool.

Ninja were also more presitigious positions. There were few of them and they would train secretly.

They used to take part in pre-emptive strikes on castle raids and such by sneaking-in and would assassinate warlords. They're more like Special ops than the Samurai who are kinda like the army.

They also neeed awesome sword skills since they didn't have as much armour. Some samurai fights were more like one on one and sometimes both would die. Some of the more elite samurai were known to kill many within a single fight. Whereas most would die in battle.

Read Samurai by Turnbull good stuff. Here's all his work http://freespace.virgin.net/stephen.turnbu...t_bookshop.html

you guys GOTTA see "the last samurai" surprisingly it did a GREAT job of explaining samurai bushido code and also the SICK fight between samurai and the ninja was just classic! what made this movie so friggin awesome was that it was highly realistic and not a b-movie ripoff using the ninja name.

who do i say is better? the samurai! the honor they have is incredible! ninjas are def cool too though...

i wanna be the guy behind the gantling guns.... he OWNS so many samuri's its not even funny...

ok, I lied.

I would be a samuri I think, both are highly trained, and I honestly believe both are equal in skill. But damnit, if I kill 10 people in a fight, I want credit for my exploits. Friggin ninja has to pretend he doesn't know the hilt from the blade.
