2,000 posts... reached!

Recommended Posts

Finally, I have managed to break the 2,000 post mark ;)

Neowin is still my favourite tech news site, just as it was back in August 2001, heh. Of course, I cannot post as much these days, since I am studying Software Development at University, and working on my PHP/MySQL site, CodeKnight which uses 99.9% of my own code ;)

Anyway, thanks Neowin :D

I dont post in milestone threads that much anymore.

Finally you reach the 2000 mark after a long stint here.

Congrats dude.

I am not trying to be an A_S - or **** anyone off, but what exactly is suppose to be the POINT to these types of threads anyway?? I mean come on, every time someone glances over at who wrote something - they can see the post count, if their interested. So what is that point exactly? Your posting that you understand what your own post count is at??

You then get a million other people posting 1 word, maybe 3 word congrat messages - for what, that you spent an ungodly amount of time on neowin? Or in the case of some people they have asked a 200 questions that have been asked 1000 times already, or posted a 200 HA HA's or Not Funny messages to a Jokes. Or have responded with "format and reinstall" 150 times to any tech question. Or more common now - any question that has anything to do with a hard drive question, ie the the word Hard Drive is somewhere in the post - the blanket answer is "Partition Magic" ;)

These types of threads just seem to be a complete waste of bandwidth, and storage for neowin - IMHO - Maybe if we got rid of some of these wasteful type posts, they could reduce the number ads, etc.. Maybe there could just be a sticky for say 1000, 2500, 5000 posts etc.. - and people that reach that level could post something to the thread to how its been such a hard road getting here, I want to thank all of the little people that have helped them reach this level, etc.. etc..

Again not trying to TICK anyone off here, just expressing my opinion - and I guess Congrats on the long struggle in reaching such an amazing feat. I mean really!! 2000 posts - with what looks like a 2.32 per day posting average. I mean it -- Congrats man!!! And all the best to the family, keep up the good work, etc.. etc.. :)
