ive been trying to install xp for a couple days now and tried many different things but I keep getting an error. The error occurs after the files have been written to my computer and it reboots. I get the windows xp splash screen and its going to continue with the install, and thats when I get the error. The error looks like this:

Error:

SXS.DLL Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:I386asms6000MSFTWindowscommoncontrolscontrols.man" on line 0.

Error:

Installation Failed: D:I386asms. Error Message: Manifest parse error: an invalid character was found in text content.

Fatal error:

One of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

Manifest Parse Error: an Invalid character was found in text content.

Please help me fix this problem, any help would greatly be appriciated.

What version are you trying to install and did you patch before installing and if so what patch did you use and how did you use it?

Yep, I have seen this before, you have to tick the ?finalise? and ?disk at once? boxes in nero before burning.
