Racing Games

Recommended Posts

I was considering posting a thread about this.

I'm looking for a fairly realistic (but not as much as Live for Speed) racing that has plenty of bumper to bumper action. LAN play is much prefered. Again, not the NFS series as I've played most of them and the newest doesn't have LAN (wtf?!). Are NASCAR games any good? I'm a bit concerned about the whole turning left thing, it might get a bit boring, esp. as I'm not a fan of the sport. Any others?

I'm getting a kickass joystick so I want something to try it out on too :)

Nascar Thunder 2004 from EA (quite realistic)

Nascar Racing 2003 season from Papyrus (very realistic; I'd recommend you a wheel to play this game)

otherwise Grand Prix 4 is still my favourite

This looks like it could be a good racing sim. http://www.simbin.com/games/gtr/index.html

that's the most realistic sim you can play on the pc. don't try it unless you are seriously hardcore.

other than that, live for speed is cool too.

finally, you have your need for speed, midnight club 2, toca is alright. you really should get an xbox though, so many racing games it's not even funny.

Naahh....racing games are just a diversion from my true love....FPSs. Unreal Tournament2k3 to be exact. Thanks for the great suggestions guys.

How realistic is Nascar Racing 2003? I know it's not arcade and I'm more than OK with this, but I don't want something as realistic as Live for Speed where I just spin endlessly as I don't have, and don't want, a wheel.

man, viper racing is OLD as the hills. i had this when i was about 8. im 13 now.

Yep, it was released in Nov. Of 1998. I first played it on a K6-233 with an 8MB ATI video card. View Racing had force feedback effects that were ahead of its time.
