LOC Veteran Posted December 12, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 12, 2003 I'm just testing my 9600XT out right now. It's not the huge performance increase I thought it would be that's for sure. On my old GF3 Ti500 on 3DMark 2001SE I would get about 7000~ or so On the 9600XT I got 9077. Now that's pretty good, but I see people with the same CPU as me (AMD 1600+) and approx the same ram as me (768 DDR) with 11 or 12000. In 3DMark 2003 I got 688 with my old card. Now I get 3592. Which is a nice increase. But then again I check and people with similar specs as me get 4500, 5000 etc. I just formatted, clean system, nothing extra running in the background. I don't know, maybe I'll just upgrade my system later on and be happy then. I'm planning on getting an AMD 2400+ Thorton and another 512 stick of ram, possibly a new mobo.
LOC Veteran Posted December 12, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted December 12, 2003 Don't get me wrong here guys, games run alot smoother. Take Yager for example, absolutely GORGEOUS game, and it runs like butter now for me. And it's nice running Max Payne 2 in DX9 with them shiny reflective mirrors finally :) I was just expecting more than 55 fps in SOF2 and 40 FPS in CoD. LOC Veteran Posted December 13, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted December 13, 2003 Yeah, I don't know what is going on. I figured in Q3 engine games I'd get 100 fps easy with everything turned on. In UT2003 I figured on at least 70 fps with everything turned on. Maybe I just need to settle for 40 fps and be happy it runs now lol
