MrA
have to compile ntfs in the kernel no you dont. At the linux-ntfs site, there are rpm's for NTFS support. I downloaded them and they installed and worked like a charm.

Tek
It's not necessary, but it's a better way of doing it.
neowin_hipster
I'm playing around with fedora right now, and i did uname -r, and then downloaded the right one. installed it, and voila it worked. I dunno what you did wrong, but i've noticed that stability in fedora is shaky at best. RPM's keep crashing and stalling so it might not be gettting installed. MrA
RPM's keep crashing and stalling so it might not be gettting installed. I've noticed the same problem. You'd expect it to be fixed after 2 betas wouldn't you?
Danrarbc
I haven't had that problem with Fedora, but I did have problems with rpm seg faulting on RedHat 8. So it isn't just Fedora with the problem.

thisispete
well ive tried installing the right RPM, i did get the right one and installed it. I checked what file systems ferdora supports after that and NTFS still isnt in the list. Ive tried all the tips that you guys gave me and it still wont work. I think the ISO i downloaded from Telstra Bigpond (Australia) is a bit crap. When I try to install MC or samba it just that the action cannot be completed or soemthign so i think the ISO was corrupt. I did a media test and it says its ok.. but who knows.. i really dont wanna go back to MDK.... nooooooo if anyone from Aus here has downlaoded the ISO from Bigpond, have you had any probs with it. Maybe its just cos i downloaded all 3 ISOs at the same time lol @ 54k/s and it made them corrupt. also i recompiled the new beta 2.6 kernel, it compiled fine but it wouldnt make the bzImage so i gave up. Plus, when i tried this on my last build, i didnt know where the existing kernel lived so i think i had the link thingy pointing to the wrong spot.
